Martin Basiri is the CEO and Co-founder of ApplyBoard, whose idea stemmed from Martin’s personal experiences as an immigrant student facing a range of obstacles. ApplyBoard uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to change the entire process of application and university recruiting. ApplyBoard’s mission is to empower people to access the best education around the world.
Innovating from a young age, Martin invented his first device at 14. To date, Martin has more than 25 inventions and holds 10 patents. Awards include a gold medal at the Geneva International Invention Show and second place at the National Youth Invention Festival.
Martin’s degrees include a Master’s in Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada, and a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering from Shiraz University.
