Irvine, Calif. — September 8, 2014 — HomeUnion, an online real estate investment management firm specializing in single-family rental (SFR) properties for the individual investor, announced today that it has completed a round of Series A financing for $5.5 million with Silicon Valley-based Artiman Ventures.
The capital will be used to further develop HomeUnion’s data analytics platform and to expand its development and technology teams. The company will also use the capital to attract and retain real estate professionals in the growing number of markets where HomeUnion is active.
“We were attracted to HomeUnion because real estate, as an investment market, has been constrained by its local nature and tremendous number of inefficiencies,” said Akhil Saklecha, managing director of Artiman Ventures. “With HomeUnion, we saw a disruptive force that is using technology and data to create the optimal portfolio of residential investment properties for individual investors. This is a platform that will create trust and remove the inefficiencies associated with remote real estate investing.”
Don Ganguly, CEO of HomeUnion said, “This round of funding will enable us to accelerate the build-out of both our technology platform and boots-on-the-ground infrastructure. These will be key components in delivering the transparency, confidence and trust needed to transform real estate into a viable retail investment option.”
