YanJin Kuang’s research focuses on modeling and advanced material growth of novel semiconductor electronic materials, low dimensional semiconductors (quantum dots and nanowires) and optoelectronic devices. He invented a nanowire-based anti-counterfeiting technology and is currently working on its commercialization in the von Liebig Entrepreneurism Center at UC San Diego. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Innovation-Corps Awards, and has more than 10 technical publications and 1 provisional patent. YanJin serves on the board of Advanced & Professional Degree Consulting Club of UCSD.
YanJin received his Ph.D and his M.S. in Physics in UC San Diego and B.S. in Applied Physics in University of Science and Technology of China.
