Prysm to bring LPD technology to InfoComm Middle East & Africa for the first time

Aug 23, 2012

Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) manufacturer Prysm brings its exclusive environmentally friendly technology to InfoComm Middle East & Africa for the first time. The company will be on booth TA-E10 from the 14th – 18th October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Prysm will exhibit two of its digital displays at InfoComm MEA, showcasing its flexible videowall solution which can be built into any size or shape using the TD1 tile. The first will be a striking huge videowall, measuring 3 metres x 3 metres, while a second wall will feature a freeform configuration consisting of 18 tiles that will demonstrate creative design and placement. These engaging displays demonstrate how to break free of the traditional 16:9 formation and capture the attention of passersby, enhancing the aesthetics of retail environments and corporate settings, in addition to livening up broadcast studio backdrops.

Steve Scorse, Prysm’s Vice President of EMEA says: “InfoComm Middle East is a very highly visited exhibition and is a great place to show the market and end users LPD technology first hand. This will be the first time that both of these configurations will be displayed in the Middle East, which will give us the opportunity to showcase the versatility, quality and performance of Prysm technology in relation to other videowall options. ”

Prysm’s first installation in the Middle East came last October as part of a new sports studio at DubaiTV. With its industry-leading standard of low power consumption, display uniformity and long life, LPD was superior to other traditional technologies in a broadcast setting. Subsequent to the Dubai TV installation, the Behbehani Group installed Prysm’s LPD in its exclusive MYBH Watches boutique in Kuwait last March, enabling the high-end retailer to capture attention and project its premium image.

LPD technology successfully creates images with lasers scanning the surface of the screen and energizing a phosphor panel. This method provides an ultra wide viewing angle of 178°. It is also an incredibly environmentally friendly solution that eases energy costs by up to 75% when compared to traditional LCD and projection displays. Over time, the total cost of ownership of permanent LPD installations is significantly lower.

Steve continues: “Prysm’s LPD technology has become recognized as a key player in the market and continues to evolve and impress visitors each time it’s on show with the smallest and least visible seams, stunning brightness, and consistent high quality viewing from every angle.”
