Steve Feng is currently an Associate Development Engineer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), leading computational imaging and mobile development projects for mobile health, environmental sensing, and diagnostic imaging platforms.
Steve received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering at UCLA with a focus on image processing and machine learning. During his academic career, Steve has developed computational tools for rapid high-throughput image reconstruction, mobile apps for smartphone-based microscopy, and various applications for biomedical image analysis.
During his graduate studies, Steve also contributed towards the development of PneumoGel, a dual-chamber syringe system for reducing pneumothorax complications during and after CT-guided transthoracic needle biopsies. Outside of his academics, Steve does software consulting for mobile and backend server development at Holomic LLC. His work has resulted in 11 peer-reviewed journal publications, 3 patents, and several software packages, several of which Holomic LLC has licensed.
Steve is an avid biker and is actively training up for a SF-LA bike run. He lives near the Westwood area in Los Angeles, CA.
A fun-fact about Steve: He regularly read novels while biking during his school commute as a teenager.
