Jonathan Pegan is currently a Ph.D student at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing materials science and manufacturing technology research and developing new materials for wearable health monitoring applications.

Jonathan received his B.S. in Bioengineering at the University of California, Merced, and his M.S. at the University of California, Irvine with focus on Biomedical Engineering. During his M.S. work, he worked with Prof. Michelle Khine and Prof. Mark Bachman

For his Ph.D studies at the University of California, Irvine, he is working under the guidance of Prof. Michelle Khine and is focused on novel sensor materials. As a part of his research work he has developed nanostructured wearable strain sensors. He has authored several peer reviewed papers. Jonathan has obtained 3 patents in the area of wearable sensor technology which are licensed to his company, TinyKicks.

Jonathan is an avid rock climber and mountain biker. He resides in Irvine, CA.

A fun-fact about Jonathan: He has kiteboarded across the Oregon, Washington boarder on the Hood River.
