Doruk Senkal is pursuing a PhD in high precision MEMS inertial sensors and systems in Prof. Shkel's lab at UC, Irvine (expected June, 2015). Doruk received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2007 and M.S. degree from Washington State University, Vancouver in 2009. During his Ph.D., Doruk Senkal acted as the lead researcher in DARPA Micro Rate Integrating Gyroscope project, delivering the project through all three phases. His research interests, represented over 21 international conference papers, 9 peer-reviewed journal papers and 5 patent applications, include design, fabrication and control of solid-state degenerate mode gyroscopes, low internal loss materials and 3-D fabrication techniques for high-performance MEMS devices.
