Shawn Mailo With an interdisciplinary focus in both bio and mechanical engineering he has worked on and developed medical devices ranging from Automated PCR machines to a foot pedal controlled syringe pump. Throughout his college career Shawn has also developed proven leadership skills by holding many positions in various student organizations. With his passion for innovating medical devices, he is now working on a product to ensure the safety and recovery of patients who receive blood transfusions. His product idea has received NSF I-Corps funding, was a finalist in San Diego's WBT Innovation Market Place, and is now working with Blood Banks to obtain preliminary data.
Shawn Mailo received his M.S. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, San Diego.
